Tzaneen rap

Tzaneen Rap is a kind of rap music from Tzaneen, South Africa. It dates to the 1990s.
It can be defined as 'a combination of English and venak, either Sepedi or Xitsonga separately or put in one verse or song. It is dominated mostly by Tsonga rappers including DNP, DJ Snake and DJ Wezz
Tsonga rappers in Tzaneen number over 100, both young and old amid a few English rappers. Amongst the biggest English rappers in Tzaneen are Niminition, Price Tag, Savanna, Gratitude Moruti, Ironic and Coupe. According to Rapperholics ©2015, the number of English rappers in Tzaneen is 215.
Section D in Nkowankowa has the highest population of rappers, 4% rap in English. It is followed by Flora Park, Tzaneen where 100% rap in English.
Tzaneen Rap has received much support for promotion. The major support comes from #Malwela, Rapperholics, and GT FM Greater Tzaneen Municipality.
Bankuna High School in Nkowankowa has the most rappers, including Hluko Riser, Man Ark, Gratitude Moruti, Black Dice, King Jeeper, Lil Krazy and Msiman.
Tzaneen Rap was recognised from 2013 because of DNP's "Dreenolda" along with hits such as "Kudyiwa Mali", "Maveru Veru", "Famba Xava" and "Chela".
Rapperholics is a website in Tzaneen and Pretoria, South Africa that determines the list of best songs, rappers and producers every year. It was founded by Dj Mega of Mega Records. The first rappers on the list were DNP & DJ Snake and the first ever English rapper was Gratitude Moruti where he later became Rapperholic' chosen one. 2015's choice is "Excuse Me" by Dj Snake.
The most unique thing about Tzaneen Rap is that it typically features a combination of two different languages. It is called "V&E" (Venacular & English) led by Niminition.
The lyrics are filled with beef , defamation, hate , love and competition.
