Tzaneen Rap is a kind of rap music from Tzaneen, South Africa. It dates to the 1990s. It can be defined as 'a combination of English and venak, either Sepedi or Xitsonga separately or put in one verse or song. It is dominated mostly by Tsonga rappers including DNP, DJ Snake and DJ Wezz Tsonga rappers in Tzaneen number over 100, both young and old amid a few English rappers. Amongst the biggest English rappers in Tzaneen are Niminition, Price Tag, Savanna, Gratitude Moruti, Ironic and Coupe. Tzaneen Rap was recognised from 2013 because of DNP's "Dreenolda" along with hits such as "Kudyiwa Mali", "Maveru Veru", "Famba Xava" and "Chela". The first rappers on the list were DNP & DJ Snake and the first ever English rapper was Gratitude Moruti where he later became Rapperholic' chosen one. 2015's choice is "Excuse Me" by Dj Snake. The most unique thing about Tzaneen Rap is that it typically features a combination of two different languages. It is called "V&E" (Venacular & English) led by Niminition.
